Today, most landscaping that involves concrete uses decorative concrete rather than the plain old gray stuff that has been overused for years. Not to say that decorative concrete hasn’t been around for years but that its scarcity has kept it expensive and out of most peoples reach. Therefor, the gray stuff is all that’s been available to the masses while decorative concrete has only been within the reach of the elite and contractors.

Most areas that involve decorative concrete, because of their nature as hardscapes, are most generally referred to within the scope of landscaping. Sidewalks, driveways, and patio floors that are all generally either concrete or pavers, are all most often designed and included in landscaping plans.
